Sunrise Walk for Wellbeing
JOIN US AND HELP DESTIGMATISE DEPRESSION
AND PROMOTE MENTAL WELLBEING
SATURDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2019
Help destigmatise depression and promote mental wellbeing with the fourth Sunrise Walk for Wellbeing - a 6km walk to finish Mental Health Awareness Week that starts in the dark and finishes with the sunrise. Join us at 6:15 am on Saturday September and make a difference.
ABOUT THE WALK
WHEN AND WHERE
Join us at 6am on Saturday 21 September for a 6:15am start and make a difference.
We start and finish at Golf Club car park - 38 Bolt Road, Tahunanui, Nelson. Please park on Bolt Road. No dogs or bikes, sorry.
Don't forget to wear something yellow!
The event is free, however donations/koha are most welcome. All proceeds from the walk will be donated to Supporting Families in Mental Illness, Nelson.
Stay around after the walk for some light refreshments (don't forget to bring some coins), music by Bryce Wastney and a few words by a Nelsonian on her own journey through depression.
There will be mental health help and advice available during and after the walk.
If it is raining heavily, the walk will be postponed to Sunday 22 September.
We would appreciate if you could RSVP to our Facebook event using the link below so we have an idea of numbers. If this isn't possible, don't worry. We look forward to seeing you there.
While the organisers will take every reasonable precaution for everyone's safety, responsibility lies with the participants.
OUR SPONSORS & SUPPORTERS
A huge thanks to our sponsors for lending their time, money and expertise and helping us make this important event a reality. A special mention to the Nelson Airport for making the airport perimeter walkway open just for our event.

To all walkers, volunteers, sponsors, musicians, committee, MC, first aiders, Mental Health Team and the Nelson Golf Club - thank you for your support and help. We hope that the morning has helped people, with a step in the right direction, to accept depression as a normal human illness that can be talked about and shared.
